Shark Fishing Charters
Shark fishing charters aboard the Instigator sharks can either be a nuisance or a an exiting experience to get on the end of your line. When you have a catch of a lifetime coming to the boat and all of a sudden you are left with just the head thats when it can get a little frustrating. When you are out after these toothy fish it can be the most fun you have ever had!
While rod and reel shark fishing on the Instigator we target mako and thresher. Both of these fish are great eating and super aggressive.
Mako Shark
Makos are one of the fastest shark species. They are known to jump wildly once they are hooked and more often when in sight of the boat. They have highly visible teeth and catching one is no easy feat!
Thrasher Shark
The Thrasher shark is another wildly popular target fish on the east coast. Its antics when it is hooked are similar to the broadbill swordfish. … Thresher shark steaks are good eating as well.
Shark Fishing
Off the coast of Ocean City, Maryland or the Outer Banks shark fishing techniques are just about the same. Although it is normal to hook these monsters while trolling for billfish and tuna a surefire method is to chum and wait!
Even if you do not find these target fish right away its almost guaranteed that we will attract something to the boat. The waters off the East Coast are home to more than 50 shark species. Sharks range from the smaller spiny dogfish to the enormous white shark.
